Job Summary:-
Data Scientist Quantitative GeneticsData Scientist Quantitative Genetics for Chesterfield, MO to shape, optimize & set strategic decisions for emerging plant research and technology development; provide expertise in experimental planning, analysis & decision processes related to plant breeding technologies; mine & model highly-dimensional agricultural phenotypic and genotypic data; teach plant breeding & related statistical concepts; lead special projects in analytics & collaborate on the delivery of new plant science technologies.
Requires Ph.
D.
in Plant Sciences, Plant Breeding or a closely related field & 1 yr of experience using R to conduct quantitative analysis of large field & genotypic datasets; communicating genomic prediction model performance & assessment to technical and non-technical stakeholders; using high performance computing to work with large datasets; analyzing & aggregating complex crop phenotypic and genotypic datasets; detecting regions of the genome associated with traits of agricultural interest through genome-wide association analysis including genotype by environment interaction; evaluating imputation methods for genotypic crop data; optimizing training sets & genetic diversity for genome-wide selection in a crop breeding program by evaluating predictive ability and selection response; and predicting genetic gains with simulated targeted recombination.
