Job Description

We are looking for a data scientist who will help us discover the information hidden in this vast amount of data, and make informed decisions to deliver more effective wireless internet service. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products — delivering actionable insights (as well as automated actions) for network planning, improving service quality, optimizing network performance, reducing costs, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Data mining using state-of-the-art methods, applied to the wireless networking domain.
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
• Solving optimization problems in the domain.
• Creating anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of their performance.
• Helping integrate such analytics systems with the cloud-based network controller.
• Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed.
• Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or closely related disciplines is required.
• 4+ years of experience specifically in Data Science or Data Analysis.
• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms..
• Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, NumPy, Pandas etc. Demonstrated excellence in at least one such toolkit is highly desirable.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Knowledge/Experience with Big data platforms such as Apache Spark, Hadoop would be  a plus
• Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
• Good scripting and programming skills in Python.
