In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math, and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for machine-learning and research. You will analyze, manipulate, and manage data to deliver meaningful insights necessary to help companies of all sizes and across multiple industries address regulatory and business challenges. Responsibilities may include:
- Understand the business problem, identify the key challenges, and formalize the problem algorithmically
- Perform exploratory data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods
- Prepares data for analysis by cleansing, conditioning, transforming, handling missing fields, identifying new feature variables.
- Use advanced analytics techniques such as machine learning, statistical analysis, deep learning and occasionally variations of mathematical optimizations.
- Integrate and deploy the rules/models developed with the existing product code.
- Write and execute unit test cases and analyze results.
- Evaluate product code according to specifications
- Create documentation of the code logic for internal team and client discussions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
- Incorporates machine learning and predictive capabilities in various digital assets (product profitability, allocations)
- Present information using data visualization techniques
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams
- Demo new capabilities during pursuit cycle
- Assist project teams in trouble shooting
- Document technical specs and assist with QA
- Maintain and enhances digital assets
- Identifies new opportunities for innovation and expansion of digital assets and accelerators
- Communicates/promotes the benefits and applicability of digital solutions and accelerators across the practice
The Team: Controllership
Deloitte Advisory’s Controllership team helps organizations reduce risk and improve reporting capabilities to meet accounting and regulatory requirements, governance in complex operating models, and support for major business events and transactions. Controllership team provides an extensive range of financial accounting and reporting services with a comprehensive industry-focused approach.
Qualifications Required:
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst of at least 2 Years.
- Experience in data mining
- Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
- Knowledge of R and Python (Data Science Libraries Scikit Learn, Pyspark; with Pandas)
- Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI and Qlik) and data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Hive)
- Strong Hold on ETL Tools like (SQL, Alteryx, SAS etc) and ETL concepts.
- Working Knowledge of concepts like Predictive Forecasting, Statistical Modelling and Machine Learning with Huge Data.
- Analytical mind and business acumen
- Strong math skills (e.g., statistics, algebra)
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields
Preferred skills:
- Experience with design phase of ERP transformation
- Solution building using various innovation techniques with industry standards
- Knowledge of Chart of Accounts and Master Data
- Alteryx Certification (Core or/and Advanced)
- Any Data Science Certification is a Plus
- Experience in building NLP models
- Experience of large enterprise applications (SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, etc.)
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
