The Data Insights Analyst will be a key member of the DCOO Analytics team responsible for ensuring DCOO makes better decisions through collection and usage of data.  Ensures business data and analysis requirements are met by properly applying data concepts, including data structures, collection and cleansing, and structured and unstructured data analysis and reporting.  Ability to collect, analyze, manipulate, use data visualization techniques.

This role carries a niche requirement in terms of expertise in ETL & data visualization.

This role is mainly responsible for:

• Perform strategic analysis of structured and unstructured data across multiple data sources
• Develops data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, cleanse, and standardize data in order to generate actionable insights and address reporting needs
• Defines data requirements and gathers and validates information, using judgment and statistical tests
• Support creation of Data Quality rules to bring data under formal governance and work with stakeholders to introduce system changes to improve data quality
• Identifies opportunities to maximise data usage, applying modelling and optimization methods to develop new strategies and improve business performance
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key systems/processes in subject teams and day-to-day functions
• Ability to provide complex business intelligence solutions involving SQL, Python, Alteryx, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies e.g. Big Query
• Design and deploy Tableau and/or Data Studio output views on par with industry standards in terms of visual appeal, ease of use and understanding
• Migrate existing data sources, reports & insights to GCP
• Work closely with DCOO teams, Business Analysts and Project Leads to empower our services with robust business intelligence
• Extensive engagement with users (including senior management) for understanding & translating their requirements into user friendly dashboards / insights
• Train new joiners in the wider DCOO analytics team / new users on the projects undertaken
• The incumbent will be expected to up-skill on an ongoing basis to also venture into Advanced Analytics and be familiar with data science languages like Python and R
• Support DCOO Analytics Leads delivering business intelligence solutions
• Identify and manage risk in the area of responsibility including resolve blockers and bottlenecks

Requirements

• A university degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis or similar education and work experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role or as a data analyst
• Experienced in preparing business reports and professional documentation
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Good knowledge and understanding of the power and value of data with an ability to apply technology solutions to meet business needs
• Ability to assess stakeholder needs to improve customer experience, show resilience under pressure and provide best in class solutions
• Delivery-focused, with ability to meet agreed deadlines and delivery high quality output
• Experience in dealing with requests and queries from senior management
• Ideally a working knowledge across one or more of the DCOO domains: Procurement, Accounts Payable, Third Party Management, Corporate Real Estate, Transformation
• Demonstrable experience of working in a data-related role; data analysis, architecture, data structures & modelling, data governance with hands-on technical experience of using associated technologies
• Knowledge of ETL processes, and data warehousing principles
• Expertise and experience in data visualization with advanced Tableau skills
• Flexibility to work on and learn various technologies is a must
• Advanced knowledge of SQL
• Experience with Python will be a plus
• Experience with business tools like JIRA, Confluence will be a plus
