An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1-year post as Research Assistant with a bioinformatic interest at Oxford Centre for Diabetes Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM).
The work will support a larger project directed by Prof Fredrik Karpe.
The successful candidate will have exciting opportunity to participate in research activities of the research group which includes a broad range of techniques in biomedical research.
They will be expected to analyse raw RNASeq data from human adipose tissues.
This involves gene annotation, estimating relative transcript abundance and analyse differential expression analysis between tissues.
Experience in analysing mammalian RNASeq data, be proficient in R and BASH is essential.
The successful candidate will have a BSc/BA in a relevant subject and work towards or have a post-graduate degree in Biomedical Science with a biostatistics angle.
The position is full time and fixed term for 12 months.
The position will be based at OCDEM, Churchill Hospital, Oxford.
