The Colorado Chautauqua Association (CCA) is a 501(c) 3 Colorado non-profit corporation dedicated
to preserving, perpetuating, and improving the site and spirit of the historic Chautauqua by enhancing
its community and values through cultural, educational, social, and recreational experiences.
The
chautauqua experience is based on lifelong learning, love of nature, voluntary simplicity, and music,
oration, and the arts.
Historic significance, traditions, cultural relevance, respite, and enrichment are
among the community benefits provided by the Colorado Chautauqua.
General DescriptionThe Sustainability Coordinator is a part-time, non-benefitted, non-exempt position assisting in the
development, coordination, and administration of sustainability programs, researching, and making
recommendations on policy within the area of sustainability at the Colorado Chautauqua.
This
position works closely with all departments to coordinate preservation and sustainability initiatives and
projects and is also responsible for a variety of administrative tasks related to Preservation and
Sustainability.
This position reports to the Director of Preservation and Sustainability and works with
staff throughout the organization.
Some evening and occasional weekend work is required in meeting
position responsibilities.
Responsibilities Include:Sustainability
Research and maintain working knowledge of best practices at peer institutions, e.
g.
, county,
city, and community with regard to sustainability, and identify those resources which the
Colorado Chautauqua can leverage to enhance our sustainability efforts.
Foster and coordinate new ideas and concepts for sustainability programming and activities.
Identify materials and resources to supplement, expand or replace existing sustainability
programming.
Assist the Director of Preservation and Sustainability in defining goals, performance metrics
and a long-range plan for sustainability at the Colorado Chautauqua.
Monitor and evaluate
program effectiveness, document performance trends, and recommend and
