Position Summary & Responsibilities
Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for Component Development, Green Channel Supplies Initiative and Development of Suppliers as per the relevant Local and International standards related to Quality, Environment and Safety to meet the requirement of ITT for Quality requirement
Process knowledge / exposure required on following;
Machining Process Fundamentals
Capability of Various Machine Tools & Machining Processes
Gauge Design & Manufacturing
Costing knowledge
Hands on Experience of using Various Inspection Instruments
Casting process:
Various Casting Quality Problems and its Trouble shooting
Casting Layout Inspection & Machining first Article Inspection
Non Destructive Testing (RT,UT,MT,PT)
Fabrication process:
Various Fabrication Quality Problems and its Trouble shooting
First Article Inspection
Non Destructive Testing (RT,UT,MT,PT& VT )
Welding Symbols and process etc.

NPD / Quality System Knowledge:
APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning)
PPAP (Production part approval process)
SPC (Statistical Process Control), CP / CPK
MSA (Measurement System Analysis) and Gauge R & RSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (Details of the Job Responsibilities)
To Drive Inspection of Casting Machining & fabrication at Supplier End ,report to site
To Drive Development of Casting Machining at Supplier End using APQP & PPAP.
Establish the process and Drive Green Channel Supplies of Machined Castings from Foundry
To Co-ordinate with Suppliers for Pattern and Casting Development.
Follow up for all Development item including tools and gauges.
Evaluation of suppliers, Supplier Audits, Supplier Enrolment.
First part approval and for critical performance parts through Engineering.
Measure and monitor supplier performance based on YOTD, Report Monthly and Keep records also give feedback to suppliers.
Initiate Supplier development programs like VBSIP for specific quality/delivery issues and work closely with Buyer to streamline the supply chain.
Interface with Suppliers, Engineering, Service, Manufacturing and Sourcing to drive Quality improvements that minimize the Costs of Quality, specifically Failed on Arrival/Install (FOA/FOI) issues (Non Conformance Notes), Field Failures, and Fact
