Context:
Diageo is a global leader in beverage alcohol with an outstanding collection of brands across spirits and beer categories.

These brands include Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, JeB, Smirnoff, Cîroc, Ketel One, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Don Julio, Tanqueray and Guinness.

Diageo has set up Analytics & Insights (A&I) team within Digital & Technology function (D&T) focused on leveraging our core information assets (data, reporting, insights and advanced analytics capabilities) to better equip markets to improve their decisions and optimize their actions through the use of improved data, insights and advanced analytics.

A&I will increasingly become a core differentiator for Diageo, identifying and enabling capabilities to improve innovation, performance and differentiation across a wide range of functions and activities globally.

Strategy / Scope:
To drive various optimization & innovation initiatives and to focus resources on building customers and consumer centric (simplicity) data products in A&I at speed (being agile) which aligns with Diageo’s performance ambition of “Embed Everyday Efficiency”.

Build & validate Proof of Concepts (POCs) for ideas/problems/opportunities quickly and support the functional teams to build sustainable models.

Build & Run solutions for cross-functional requirements when the data is sourced from multiple sources and used across different functions including Data Gov & Data Quality reporting requirements.

Where there is a need to profile, wrangle large volume of data (Big Data) from various internal/external sources to make it fit for purpose for downstream usage.

Create an ecosystem to identify resources, groom them on techno-functional areas.

Once expertise is built, move them to the functional teams where there is gap.

Are typically responsible to support projects if there is urgent need for full stack developers and to provide resource support to projects at risk to meet agreed milestones.

Support the BAU teams during the transition phase once the BAU team is stood up, stabilize the process and hand it over.
