The position will be based out of our Reston, VA office, New York City office, or via remote work arrangements.
About the role
In this role, youll develop the next generation of assessments using leading technologies and solve challenging software problems with linguistic and machine learning techniques.
Youll work with an innovative agile team that uses data science and DevOps skills to solve challenging software and business problems.
The team is highly experienced in building and deploying machine learning solutions across a range of domains and seeks an expert in NLP to bring related work up to the state of the art.
Responsibilities of the role
Implement innovative algorithms to solve challenging problems in the Natural Language Processing space.
Problem-solve with product and business teams, advise executive team how to leverage NLP and data science.
Use various modeling and machine learning techniques to creatively solve business problems.
Write scripts and models using production-quality code that can be deployed in the cloud, including tests.
Communicate methodology and results of advanced analyses using accessible language and intuitive data visualizations.
Create reproducible, documented analyses and models that lend themselves to automation
Perform other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
Qualifications needed for the role
Master’s in computational linguistics, data science, or related field, or a Bachelor’s and 5-7 years related experience
Strong experience programming in Python and/or R.
Strong understanding of English syntax and semantics, with Linguistics coursework a plus.
1-3 years of hands-on experience developing and evaluating NLP solutions using both rule-based and machine learning methods.
Strong foundation in statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
Facility with relational, columnar, and NoSQL database systems.
Experience coping nimbly with imperfect data.
Passion for solving difficult problems creatively.
