This team will support the strategic objectives of UnityPoint and collaborate with customers across the care continuum to ensure the appropriate information is available to drive decision making and support business needs.
This position assists the Executive Director- Actuarial Services in identifying, quantifying, and managing financial and related operational risks to any areas of assumed risk by the organization, including ACO, joint venture insurance operations, and self-insured plans.
Responsibilities:
Support the development, application and consistent administration of actuarial principles and statistical techniques to ensure sound financial results
Assist in development and implementation of provider risk-sharing programs and other payment constructions applicable to the organization
Support analytical projects: formulate methodology, establish data requirements, identify client deliverables, determine tasks and timing
Assist in development of actuarial and analytic models and solutions for business and clinical leaders to drive outcomes improvement
Provide actuarial support to self-insured plan(s), including calculation of unpaid claims liabilities and other financial accruals.
Maintain a working knowledge of the data sources to accurately and efficiently report findings in a meaningful and understandable manner.
Support the financial forecasting processes via appropriate modeling using actuarial and analytics models applying appropriate assumptions and statistical techniques.
Execute analyses and make the results accessible and relevant to a wide variety of business users
Collaborate effectively with other analytical team members
