The role
This exciting Research Assistant/Associate opening is looking for a Machine Learning expert to work as part of a highly interdisciplinary, multi-national recently founded H2020 grant on AI-enabled RNA nanotechnology DElivery SysTem for INformATION transfer into cells.
The candidate will become a member of the ICOS Research Group ( https://ico2s.
org ) and work under the direction of Prof.
N.
Krasnogor and Dr.
E.
Torelli.
You will have responsibility for carrying out research and development of machine learning algorithms, in collaboration with consortium partners, for accelerating the design and optimisation of RNA/DNA origami, strand displacement and molecular computation systems that will be used for the creation of novel molecular cargo packaging & delivery systems.
This will involve working with biologists, chemists and physicists to understand the biological, chemical & physical constraints for the systems they will be building both at Newcastle and across the consortium and incorporate these constraints into machine learning datasets and algorithms.
Your goal will be to design, implement, test and debug the entire machine learning workflow for the consortium.
