About the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA):
OCRA works with local, state and national partners to provide resources and technical assistance to aid communities in shaping and achieving their vision for community and economic development.

Salary:

About the Job:
This position serves as a technical expert in the highly specialized areas of Geographic Information Systems(GIS), data science, and data analysis.

Incumbent provides technical expertise for the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) and the Next Level Connections (NLC) Broadband Program.

A Day in the Life:
Provides technical assistance on Agency projects involving design and execution of GIS using ESRI and other products to prepare, create, manipulate, analyze, and display geographic information data;
Assists in database management for the NLC Program and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs as needed;
Develops deliverables in a variety of mediums including written reports, digital web mapping applications, physical maps, spreadsheets, general annual reports, and data visualizations;
Provides detailed data requests tailored to requests of various agency partners, stakeholders, university researchers, and the general public;
Implements broadband coverage models as needed to track progress towards increasing broadband accessibility in Indiana;
Assists with maintenance of Agency’s mapping tools on web site;
Insures the tasks that conform to department techniques, standards, policies, and procedures;
Other duties as assigned.
