Duties
The incumbent serves as a Mathematical Statistician, providing a wide range of advice and consultation to staff on statistics related issues.

Serve as a senior advisor to NIAID and to other governmental and nongovernmental research groups in areas relating to the development and application of statistical techniques to research in the biological and medical sciences.
Serve as a senior collaborator within NIAID to other Divisions and as an authoritative statistical advisor to NIAID-sponsored clinical studies.
Provide consultation in the design and analysis of NIAID intramural and extramural studies.
Provide authoritative advice in study design and/or analysis, sometimes as a full collaborator.
Develop and provide statistically sound practically relevant support to Project Officers for major studies funded by NIAID; and coordinates and collaborates with Center statisticians.
Collaborate in the writing of scientific papers reporting clinical studies.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant new developments in statistical research, and create and maintain effective liaison with other scientists and researchers at universities, research centers, and nongovernmental organizations consulting on a development of epidemiology, clinical trials and basic research projects.
