POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of Data Science Services is an experienced scientific professional responsible for the direct leadership and development of the Data Science team.
The Manager partners with leadership from across the organization to identify, define, architect, develop, deploy, monitor, measure, clearly communicate on and maintain solutions that leverage data science methods including, but not limited to statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, data mining, epidemiological modeling, econometric modeling, natural language processing, image processing, streaming analytics, simulation modeling, optimization modeling and prescriptive modeling.
The Manager serves as a thought leader and point of contact on data science topics for the OSF Ministry.
The Manager is also responsible for supporting and empowering the cultural context for data science corporately, across OSF Innovation and within Healthcare Analytics by ensuring the team continues to consistently produce industry leading data science products.
Qualifications:
REQUiRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or other related quantitative discipline.
5 years of experience with progressively increasing responsibility, with an analytical focus.
5 years of experience in a complex healthcare environment.
3 years using Python, R or SAS.
3 years of experience as a functional data scientist.
2 years of experience working within the EPIC data ecosystem.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or other related quantitative discipline
3 years of experience in a supervisory/management role.
Epic Data Model Certification.
Knowledge of database design principles, methodologies and tools, including, but not limited to, work flows, field structure, table layout, joins, etc.
