POSITION: Human Resources Analyst

JOB SUMMARY: Working under minimal supervision, the Human Resource (HR) Analyst will collect, compile, and analyze HR data, metrics, and statistics, and apply this data to all HR-related functions, and legal compliance. The HR Analyst assists with the implementation of HRIS systems and supports HRIS upgrades, testing and other projects as assigned. The HR Analyst assists the HR Department with analyzing and improving work process design and flow. This position also serves as a technical point-of-contact for the assigned functional area of Human Resources and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data for process improvement opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an experienced analyst to assist the HR Department with its data and analytic needs. Experience in HR Department is a plus, but not required.
Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the DAYFORCE human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, and other sources.
Maintains strict confidentiality when working with APP’s people and information. Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
Assists with the implementation of new Human Capital Management (HCM)/HRIS features and software, including payroll, HR records, training, performance, organizational development, recruiting, and other related initiatives.
Generates reports/queries, including writing, maintaining and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools.
Develops standard reports for ongoing business needs. Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
Ensures data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data. Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Performs system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades. Collaborates with HR staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fixes. Maintains HRIS system tables. Documents process and results.
Researches and resolves HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
Conducts or assists with HRIS audits to ensure that data is accurate.
Prepares components of the monthly HR report.
Utilizes interpersonal skills when working with various employees and leadership to accomplish project goals.
Conducts HRIS training, including developing user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Trains new system users.
Collects and audits necessary data for regulatory reporting including (but not limited to) EEO-1, VETS 4212, CA Pay Data and Affirmative Action reporting.
Maintains awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies.
Assists HR leadership with benefits, recruiting, compensation, performance, and other HR-related areas as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field required.
At least three years of experience in HR, data analytics or related areas.
Independent worker with a clear sense of urgency and exceptional accuracy.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of APP and employee data.
Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
Attention to detail.
Knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
Excellent record-keeping skills.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge of Excel with the ability to use spreadsheets, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, advanced conditional formatting, formulas, Pivot Tables, data simulations, graphing, calculations, and automation to process large quantities of data relevant to HR tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Organizational and conflict management skills.
Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR, and HR policies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, payroll, and similar employee management software.
Experience in HR or bilingual a plus.
