Introduction:

  • To ensure maximum availability of Non -production environments, troubleshoot and connectivity issues for the deliveries.
  • To maintain and utilise support process to resolve infrastructure issues.
  • To work closely with the Vulnerability Lead & Environment manager to implement Environment support initiatives & E2E patch management.
  • To facilitate Unix/Linux/Windows/Oracle DB infrastructure upgrade on all non-production servers.
  • To be a PoC for environment Vulnerability Management and responsible for booking Security Vulnerability patches across non-production infrastructure landscape.
  • Own the environment, track status and defining SLA of the environment availability and reporting metrics.
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders within Application, Infrastructure teams and across the technology organisation.
  • Work closely with product consumers (application teams), Cyber security partners and Control tribe to ensure that the product delivered have the right feature sets, secure and adhere to operational standards
  • Strong Inter-personal skills to successfully collaborate will be key.

What will you be doing?

  • A suitable candidate for this role should have strong experience in Environment Management and strong understanding of ITIL framework for Service Management – incident and problem resolution and change management.
  • Should also have good understanding on common infrastructure components and how they fit together and interact. They should be able to demonstrate examples of innovation and enhancement in their assignments.
  • Work closely with the infrastructure & environment leaders and undertake ownership and implement support initiatives.
  • The role will allow for a good degree of freedom in choosing how to solve problems and requires a person who is curious and driven to improve the systems, infrastructure and processes that they encounter.
  • Oversee and manage support service offerings for Non-production environments such as Break Fix infrastructure support, managing implementation schedules of planned outages due to Change driven by GTSM, Infrastructure upgrade and patching.
  • Preserve and enhance the knowledge base of Environment support management activities by appropriate documentations and by conducting and organising sessions for the team.
  • Foresee risks and raise them on the Team’s review forum for remediation’s as appropriate.

  • Posess a working knowledge of UNIX-based Web applications running on Physical, Virtual and Cloud servers.
  • Good Knowledge on Incident, Problem,  & Change management process (ITIL).

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Basic Unix/Linux/Mainframe awareness, knowledge of Unix/ Linux/Mainframe OS and basiccommands.
  • Good Knowledge on Release, Deployment and Change management process (ITIL).
  • Conceptual understanding of Cloud –  AWS, VMWARE, Azure, etc.
  • Basic understanding of the working of Application Servers – JBOSS, WAS, Tomcat, MQ, Kafka.
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle, MongoDB or any other relational or non-relational Databases.
  • Awareness of Incident & Change Management process and toolset including but not limited to ServiceFirst/ ServiceNow, JIRA, Jenkins, Nexus, AppDynamices, Elk, etc
