Educational Statistics Supervisor

THE POSITION
The Data Quality Office is in search of a results-oriented professional to lead agency-wide data collection and reporting efforts. This is a management position responsible for supervising a team that plans, organizes, conducts, and presents statistical studies on various aspects of educational data utilizing advanced statistical techniques to analyze data, detect trends, and present findings.
This position also assesses the implications of data collected relative to educational initiatives, programs, and issues. Also acts as a liaison between agency offices, educational and government agencies, vendors, and the public.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
1. Supervises a data team engaged in the collection, editing, analysis and presentation of ARP ESSER, postsecondary, and CTE education data for public and private schools. These data are collected in PIMS data collection system. Responsible for the planning and execution of various statistical studies in such areas as student enrollment, graduates/completers, expenditures and other elements of data which are necessary for planning and executing educational programs. Acts a business liaison with PDE technical staff to ensure proper collection of these data.
2. Acts as a data liaison with the Bureau of Career and Technical education by representing that bureau in matters of data collection, interpretation and reporting at various meetings, task forces, etc. Plans and develops in conjunction with the BCTE the collection, analysis and presentation of CTE education data. Evaluates, in conjunction with the BCTE, the impact of state and federal legislation on existing data collections, systems and reports relevant to CTE data, including PIMS and PERKINS, and makes changes to satisfy new requirements with the assistance of appropriate staff.
3. Acts as a data liaison with the Office of Postsecondary and Higher Education by representing that bureau in matters of data collection, interpretation and reporting at various meetings, task forces, etc. Plans and develops in conjunction with OPHE the collection, analysis and presentation of postsecondary education data as necessary.
