Job detailsJob TypeFull-timeFull Job DescriptionThe Director of Business Intelligence position at NJIT offers a unique opportunity for a technology leader with proven vision and implementation background implementing large scale analytics solutions at a technology campus with strong data science focus.
This position is responsible for developing vision, strategy, and accountability for enterprise-wide implementation and rollout of business intelligence solutions at NJIT.
In partnership with leaders within the Information Services & Technology division, and with key campus partners within the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, HR, and FI, this individual is responsible for defining the information, reporting and analytical needs of the university, and developing strategies and plans to achieve them.
The Director of Business Intelligence will be in charge of establishing and managing a team of business intelligence architects and developers.
A hands-on, articulate and tech-savvy leader, with a strong background in technology disciplines related to enterprise analytics, this individual will lead and champion the use of the enterprise analytics and business intelligence platforms for strategic and operational decision-making across the university.
The individual should be a consensus-builder and must constantly learn and adapt to the rapid rate of change in IT and the business of academia.
Essential Functions:
1.
Lead the development of an enterprise wide analytics strategy, incorporating needs from various campus divisions, aligned with the overall IT strategy.
2.
Lead the architecture, selection, implementation, and ongoing management of an enterprise scale analytics platform, business intelligence tools, data management tools, and data governance solutions.
3.
Co-lead the instituting of data governance, along with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Finance, HR, and other key members of the campus community.
4.
Provide innovative and forward thinking leadership towards analytics and business intelligence at NJIT, championing innovation and creating a culture of continuous improvement where new thinking is appreciated.
