The Data Scientist will be a key member of the Consumer Lending team.

Will be responsible for identifying and evaluating opportunities to improve operational &/or credit performance.

Analyze historical data and apply integrative thinking to identify trends and make business recommendations.

The candidate must be able to work efficiently in a high volume, fast paced, and deadline/results oriented environment.

Be a self-starter who is passionate about the functional areas they will own and is always on the lookout for creative ways to solve business problems.

Primary responsibilities include:Analyze business problems and generate hypothesesAbility to proactively take lead and drive projects to fruitionAnalyze data to prove hypothesis and make recommendations for improvementDevelop and deliver regular reports and communications to senior managementDesign statistical and mathematical models for reporting and predictive analyticsImplement strategies in conjunction with other teamsCommunicate analysis insights and progress on implementation
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
3+ years financial or quantitative experience
2-3 years experience programming in SAS, SQL
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical aptitude
Preferred Skills/Experience:
3-5 years analytical or quantitative experience, preferably in retail credit risk
3+ years experience programming in SAS, SQL and proven experience with relational databases
Ability to effectively communicate and present recommendations and solutions to business partners and internal team members
Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree in a Quantitative disciple (e.

g.

Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Economics)
Master’s degree Preferred in a Quantitative disciple (e.

g.

Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Economics)

Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-5
