JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
The job duties of a Data Scientist-I are to support/lead projects in the domain of network modelling and transportation modelling.

To be successful, he/she must utilize technical skills as well as soft skills.

The domain and technical skills are defined in 4 key skills:
Domain (logistics/inventory/transportation/network) knowledge, tool (Transportation Modeler or TM) knowledge, data purification & analysis and building insights for customer review.

It would be added advantage to have working knowledge of visualization tools like Tableau and/or Power BI.

This role also will support technology solutions for the analytics team and meeting the needs of the organization.

This person is proficient on Transportation Management systems (BY TMOD or TM) and associated data.

In this role one is expected to identify and drive continuous improvement within the department.

In addition to technical skills, a Data Scientist-I needs to demonstrate intermediate to fully skilled levels of the following values based competencies (VBCs):
integrity & trust; building inclusive relationships; customer focus; problem solving; priority setting; and dealing with uncertainty.

Although the requirements above describe most of the responsibilities of the Data Scientist-I, due to the breadth of issues that arise on projects, it is sometimes expected that he/she take on other responsibilities outside of this job description.

BACKGROUND /EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, logistics or a related field.

Require 1 – 3 years of relevant experience in supply chain, network/transportation optimization & simulation.
