About the Job:
The Management Performance Hub (MPH) provides analytics solutions tailored to address complex management and policy questions enabling improved outcomes for Hoosiers.
We partner with state agencies to leverage data in innovative ways, facilitating data-driven decision-making and data-informed policymaking.
The MPH Intermediate Data Scientist (DS) plays a key role by creating in-depth analyses to convey accurate, meaningful insights that empower state agencies and other partners to better serve their populations and the Hoosier community.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Helps the data science division within the agency translate business needs and challenges into the correct technical solution
Provides mentoring and guidance to other, more junior Data Scientists and staff
Act as a mentor and DS SME for other junior DS users across the state and external stakeholders
Engages with key business stakeholders on large projects and initiatives to understand their analytical and operational challenges and translate these needs into data solutions
Assess the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data sample
