The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India.
It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health.
PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes.
The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders.
Project Brief
Public Health Foundation of Indias (PHFI) through the NACO-PHFI-TSU project is managing Technical Support Units (TSUs) in five states of India namely Gujarat, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The TSUs will provide technical assistance to the State AIDS Control Societies.
The project has been awarded to PHFI by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO).
DeliverablesMonitor/Supervise 12 TIs every month with a minimum of 20 days in the field every month.
Ensure all staff are recruited by TIs in consultation with SACS according to the approved plan and guidelines.
Ensure the TIs provide appointment letter to all staff with detailed TOR.
Facilitate induction training of newly recruited or transitioned TIs.
Ensure that all the TIs have PE wise hotspot level outreach plans that are supervised by the ORWs and monthly review of all the ORWs and PEs performance is done by the chief functionary of the TIs.
Facilitate the identification (by TI), shortlisting (mapping), training and establishing linkage with the preferred providers for STI services.
Ensure that the clinics (project owned/PPP/referral) follow the NACO Syndromic Case Management Guidelines.
Ensure that the TIs develop referral network for ICTC, Care & Support, TB management, STI complications, medical care, social and legal support and IDU services.
Ensure that the TIs have setup free condom outlets at hotspots.
