There is a huge thirst from decision makers across the business to use data, and insights derived from analysis, to drive better commercial decisions.
The Data Tools and Automation team is embarking on a journey to completely change the way people in the GCSC department interact with data.
Key stakeholders across the business, from board level down, are looking for ways in which data can enable significant growth in revenue and profitability.
The team has implemented a completely new software stack based on Tableau, Alteryx and Exasol, and a robust new data warehouse.
They are now focused on working closely with subject matter experts throughout the business to deliver key dashboards and insights to support decision making.
The Data Tools and Automation team acts as the center of excellence for analytics and automation within GCSC.
It is responsible for the datasets and infrastructure used for analytics, developing best practices, and overseeing all business analytics throughout the Business Unit.
The team also bridges the technological gaps and provides best optimized solutions to achieve operational excellence.
Role Overview – Business Intelligence Specialist
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Specialist to join our Data Tools and Automation team.
The role is likely to evolve over time and there is significant scope for the candidate to shape the role according to their preferences.
The role will be responsible for producing high quality and high impact analytics to support decision making across the business.
This is likely to require the individual to identify relevant internal and external data sets for their analysis, design and build the analysis, review their findings with a variety of stakeholders, and iterate to reach a high quality answer.
The Candidate will report to the Data Tools and Automation Manager and will often be semi-embedded within a functional team.
