Job Purpose
The post holder will join the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, MRC University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) and will make a leading contribution to the MRC funded project SARS-CoV-2 Genome to Phenotype (G2P-UK) consortium.
You will be embedded (working remotely or on site) with researchers based in the CVR and other consortium sites.
The project will involve working with virus genome sequence data, developing an online resource for SARS-CoV-2 sequence data and prioritisation of sets of mutations and variants for experimental characterisation.
You will work closely with other members of the CVR Bioinformatics group, COG-UK and G2P-UK consortium to achieve the project goals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.
Conduct tasks individually or jointly in accordance with the project deliverables and project stakeholders.
This will involve taking a leading role in prioritising sets of SARS-CoV-2 mutations for experimental characterisation in collaboration with the COG-UK consortium, https://www.

uk, and as part of the G2P-UK consortium, https://www.

org/news/national-consortium-to-study-threats-of-new-sars-cov-2-variants/, to meet their analytical objectives.
2.
Contribute to the development of a SARS-CoV-2 computer resource and associated analysis of COG-UK genome sequence data.
3.
Work with other researchers at the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) and remotely with the other consortia members.
4.
Assist and contribute to the project¿s research objectives, in collaboration with other bioinformaticians, software engineers and consortium researchers.
