Job Description:
Our Operations Development team focuses on optimizing Operations for Oracle-Opower UGBU via building distributed services that curate data & user interfaces that stitch & present this data.

The Operations development team is a small part of the Operations Center.

However, we are rapidly growing a development team that focuses on building responsive user interfaces and scalable backend services in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

As a software engineer on the Operations Development team, you will get to:

You will work collaboratively with Ops Dev team USA in developing the next generation of Operation Applications built on React, Ruby on Rails & Java Webservices [Drop-wizard]

You will have an opportunity to work on a wide range of technologies [React, Java Web Services, Docker, Nomad, OCI, etc.

].

You will be responsible for implementing, developing & maintaining frontend and backend services that will power alerting, visualization apps used by Operations on a daily basis.

You will get experience working with large scale distributed systems running on OCI.

Responsibilities

Strong self-management abilities to follow through on vision commitments.

Analyze product requirements & implementation needs to develop maintainable high-quality web apps.

Ability to work with remote team member/s in different time-zone/s, follow directions & communicate effectively to complete projects on time.

Ability to employ follow-through to deliver all aspects of the product life cycle.

Ability/Knowledge to develop complex, responsive user-interfaces & solve visualization challenges.

Ability to work in a No-QA development team, where the developers are expected to automate every facet of the Testing Pyramid.

Understanding & following industry-standard for documentation practices.

Required Skills

Tech in Computer Science/Information Science.

4-8 years’ experience in Java, preferably with critical, web services, distributed systems.

1-2 years’ experience in Front-end development, preferably in React.

Proficient with SQL-like & Database Technologies.

Experience with performance testing frameworks, browser-based debugging.

Solid understanding of REST and API design.

Nice-To-Have

4-6 years’ Full-s
