The job involves conducting industry and financial research and data analytics to supportclientsandcontributingtointernalknowledgebuildingefforts.Typicalprojects will involve gathering, analyzing, synthesizing and presenting data using structured methodologies and frameworks. Projects may take couple of days to several weeks for completion Cost Analytics team benchmarks costs and operating margins for financialinstitutions.Costsareanalyzedacrosscosttypes,financialmarketproducts, regions, etc., using public sources, regulatory disclosures and proprietarymodels

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:

Review Investment Banks/ Financial Institutions Cost reporting structures along with maintaining and updating standard taxonomy in consultation with Seniors in theteam

Build, update and maintain Cost allocation methodology based on public and private datasources

Update and maintain client’s Cost allocation methodologies based on feedback received fromclients

Prepare initial Costs estimates across all cost types, products andregions

Update and review of reported to ‘normalized’ costsreconciliation

Create data templates for clients based on client’s reportingstructure

Make adjustments to the central Costs model based on client’s product and Coststaxonomies

Update & Maintain Central Costs model based on client’s product and Costs taxonomies

Identify Costs drivers for Cost types from public sources, e.g., cost of property in keylocations

Collect data on Cost drivers from various sources in a central drivers database

Analyse the relationship between Costs drivers and reported/ estimated Cost by checking for a variance between them and reasons for thesame

Create draft presentations for the clients along with teammembers
Participate in client calls along with team members and take meeting notes
Co-ordinate with other research delivery teams in India and & Relationship across geography location for deliverables

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes likely to have been gained over two to four years relevant experience .

MBA or post graduate degree in finance, business management, statistics, economics or similar analytical fields.

Professional certifications like CA, ICWA, CFA etc. would be an added advantage.

Strong quantitative skills, an analytical mind and an ability to work with significant amounts of data, both numerical and qualitative

Ability to take decisions while working with unstructured data and limited information

Responsible attitude and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

Well developed interpersonal and active listening skills

Prior experience of 2 to 4 years in financial research / analytics

Sound knowledge of global capital markets products preferred

A strong degree of independence and self-motivation

Fluency in spoken and written English is essential

Excellent working skills with MS office tools, especially good at advanced Excel and PowerPoint

Working knowledge of professional information services like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters etc preferred
