Job Description:
Financial Duties: Responsible for managing all fiscal operations of the Department of Statistics and Data Science (E&G, foundation, auxiliary(; manage budget tracking/reconciliation of E&G accounts, conducts quarterly financial reviews and reports, manage startup funds for new faculty hires, prepare future budgets for the department, execute financial transfers, journal entries and requisitions, purchase orders and travel vouchers.

Responsible for the interpreting and/or developing fiscal tools and operations to improve efficiency in the department.

Grant/Research Administrator: Responsible for post-award requests, review of award and action items, implement corrective actions with HR Liaison, initiating cost shares, budget transfers/no cost extensions and approves PO>$50k.

Acts as department research compliance advisor and Effort Certification Reporting Technology (ECRT) coordinator.

Facilitates C&G purchasing, tracking/reconciliation of C&G accounts.

Works with HR Liaison to submit course and/or research buyout requests to the college.

Human Resources Duties: Responsible for managing all HR operations for the department including, but not limited to, recruiting and managing searches for all classifications, completing required hire/termination paperwork for all classifications, initiate personnel action forms, facilitate international hire paperwork as needed and approve payroll for department.

Maintain department files, student records and confidential files.

Serve as liaison between university HR and department.

Create and process graduate teaching assistant/associate (GTA) contracts.

Assist Chair in collection and submission of faculty academic assignments, in-unit assignments, faculty evaluations, data collection for department annual reports, GTA performance assessments, faculty activity system (FAS) reporting, and other forms/agreements submitted to the college.

Serve as liaison with university administration and the college.

Maintaining the Chair’s calendar and review and track student complaints.
