Junior Scientific Analyst
We are seeking a Junior Scientific Analyst to assist in delivering data analysis projects which aid in managing scientific research portfolios. The Scientific Analyst will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
- Designing and preparing analysis, data visualizations, report and presentations which clearly communicate findings
- Collaborating with diverse individuals including other analysts, clients, technology experts, data scientists, and scientific subject matter experts
- Delivering projects on time and with desired quality
- Consulting with clients to identify their needs, manage their expectations and present complex research findings
- Typical projects include reports evaluating a research portfolio, interactive tools for examining a research field, organization or network, and datasets for use by institutions in their internal reporting systems
Qualifications
The best candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Preferred
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analysis with 12+ months of experience.
- Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, Visualization tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally and collaborate with diverse groups including clients, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Experience successfully planning and organizing work for oneself
- Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts between them
- Familiarity with how science is performed, funded, and managed
- Highly desirable
- Professional skills in data visualization with experience on R Shiny or similar tools (1+ year)
- Experience with data science methods, e.g. statistical modeling, text-mining, machine learning, topic modeling or network analysis
- Experience with AI/ML tools desired.
