Job Purpose

The Data analyst reports into the Data & Analytics Manager, and is part of a global and

multicultural team of analysts operating from various locations. His/her role is to support the

central Global Business Services (GBS) organization with business needs analyses and

modelling tools and enabling Akzo Nobel drive continual end-to-end process maturity and

standardization initiatives.

His/her analyses will bring clarity on the value and benefits of the choices made or faced by the GBS organization. His/her analytical work will bring visibility and will be pivotal in providing the GBS Management and principals with the necessary confidence in supporting and approving the strategical decisions. The analyst will also take an active role in deploying predictive analytics to

deliver actionable and meaningful insights to support logistics, manufacturing and overall supply chain analytical and digital roadmap.

Ultimately, he/she will aim to maximize benefits in the context of advanced analytics to the

whole company by offering the services to other functional towers as well.

Key Accountabilities

Act as analytics SME for Manufacturing and Logistics functions:

  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand business priorities and objectives
  • Conceptualize, design, build and deploy precise and accurate predictive data models on top of the existing transactional data repositories
  • Lead technical design and implementation of forecasting and predictive models;
  • Identify trends and business opportunities in the area using descriptive analytics and complex data analysis (root cause deep dives, correlations, regressions, simulations)
  • Build intuitive and user-friendly scenario models to enable efficient decision-making process

Support GBS and GPO organization with analytical expertise:

  • Cleanse and combine data from structured and unstructured sources to derive meaningful insights
  • Identify, gather, analyze, and interpret trends in complex data sets
  • Prepare presentations to share analysis outcome with various stakeholders
  • Help Process specialists/champions / CI Managers and RPA team identify and estimate process improvement opportunities through predictive analysis;
  • Collaborate with the dashboard development team to visualize analysis
  • Partner with GBS operation teams on specific projects

Experience

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Informatics, Business analytics, Finance from a premier institute
  • 1-3 years of deep statistical domain experience into advanced/predictive analytics space
  • Knowledge of and practical experience in quantitative / predictive modelling
  • Experience with python, R scripting and data transformation tools [e.g. Alteryx]
  • Knowledge of SAP (including Business Warehouse/Business Objects) a plus
  • Experience with Tibco Spotfire reporting and visualization tools a plus
  • Experience in supply chain domain a plus
  • Ability to work with a cross regional, multicultural and virtual team
  • Extensive number literacy and financial acumen
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and handle pressure
  • Impeccable work ethics
  • Potential to operate in complex global structure
